Get in the Car

An eleven-year-old boy is walking purposefully down the street when a car pulls up beside him and its window is wound down.

‘I’ll give you a bag of lollies if you get in the car,’ says the driver.

‘No way! Get stuffed!’ replies the boy.

‘How about a bag of lollies and ten dollars?’ the driver asks.

‘I said no way!’ replies the irritated youngster.

‘What about a bag of juicy lollies and fifty dollars, eh?’ tries the driver, a little desperately, still rolling slowly to keep up with the walking boy.

‘No! I’m not getting in the frickin’ car!’ answers the boy.

‘Okay, okay. I know what you want. I’ll give you a hundred dollars and a bag of lollies,’ the driver offers.

‘How many times do I have to tell you no!’ screams the boy.

‘What will it take to get you into the car?’ asks the driver, with a long sigh.

The boy replies, ‘Listen, Dad. You bought the Volvo, you live with it!’
